Date: May 17, 2012, 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time

Are you charged with implementing new instructional materials? New to teaching? Needing to augment your current textbook? This presentation will help you understand the instructional and assessment design in your instructional materials.

The use of conceptual flow is an important tool to help teachers understand the content in their instructional materials, design instruction to match learning goals and plan for assessment of student understanding. In this presentation you will learn about how to build a conceptual flow and analyze your instructional materials for a conceptual flow. You will also learn how to use the conceptual flow to link to Common Core State Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards, and how to identify formative assessment points for student conceptual learning.
