Event Description

Target grades: K-12
Date: Tuesday, May 22, 2012, 7:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time

In this presentation, NSTA Press Author and former President, Anne Tweed, will review the strategies utilized in Designing Effective Science Instruction (DESI).

The DESI framework is built on the following ideas:

  • Identify Important Content
  • Develop Student Understanding
  • Create a Positive Learning Environment

The Content-Understanding-Environment (C-U-E) framework incorporates key findings from research and is easy to use and remember. The C-U-E framework presents the research in a coherent format that creates a vision of effective science instruction. This framework is a tool that can serve you well for years to come
