The Common Core states that students in 6th grade should “Develop understanding of statistical variability” and “Summarize and describe distributions.” In 7th grade, students “Draw informal comparative inference about two populations.” By 8th grade, students will “Investigate patterns of association in bivariate data”. In this webinar, we’ll use the draft progression document for Statistics and Probability, Grades 6–8 as our guide, and explore how TinkerPlots can help make these standards more accessible for students—and teachers. It will be helpful to review the draft progression from http://commoncoretools.me/2011/12/26/progression-for-statistics-and-probability-grades-6-8/ before the webinar. No previous experience with TinkerPlots is required.
