For a colleague, I'm looking for suggestions on how to prepare for the MS Science Praxis test. Websites? Readings? Coursework? Thanks.

I took this a couple years back and think this is the book I used: http://www.amazon.com/Praxis-General-Science-Middle-School/dp/15819.... I did pass the test - and felt that the book made me study some content I wouldn't have thought about otherwise. However, I was not a fan of the book at all. Tons of grammatical/spelling/punctuation errors, some inaccurate science information, and almost a "brain dump" approach to the content. I found myself going online to supplement what was there.
It looks like there are other guides and notes available from Amazon or lulu.com. I can't speak to the quality of any of them, however.
I should add that I have a degree in biology and then taught science (in a state that didn't require Praxis II) for 8 years before moving to a state that did require it. Others might need more involved prep if they don't have such a background.
Good luck!
