Hello All,
As we get closer to summer, the application processing time for student summer camps is getting into full gear. I thought that it might be useful have a discussion about various opportunities for young folks.
The first one that i would like to share is regarding
Air Camp. It's a new camp where middle school students (7th-9th grade) from all over will spend a week (July 18th-23rd) at the University of Dayton. They will do STEM/Aerospace related activities throughout the week at not only UD, but Wright Patterson Air Force base, Sinclair University, and many other related sites. The equipment and training that they will be given will even allow them to log their first half an hour of flight towards obtaining their own pilots license!
I was fortunate enough to help develop the concept and will help see it through its inaugural year as one of two lead teachers. It's non-profit and was created by educators and civic leaders to help encourage interest in STEM related careers. The application process is competitive, open to 40 students, and is scheduled to conclude on April 15th. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Take Care,
Tom
