Do your students struggle with comprehension or vocabulary development? Looking for ways to integrate literacy in your instruction? This group will explore issues related to literacy in middle school science and mathematics.
I am glad you joined us!
Now that you are here with us, you can start to explore the site and look for opportunities to learn and share in this professional network.
Be sure to look at the resources on the home page. This will show some of the great tools on the NSDL site. There are several resources that can help you in lesson planning, educational strategies, or finding access to other opportunities.
To help connect with people with similar interests, you may want to join groups. You can share your ideas with others and have some of your own questions answered. We have started talking about Science Fairs. You may want to add some more questions or thoughts to our discussion.
There are also events, like the Tech Talks, available. Even if you miss a Tech Talk, you can check out the recorded session and add to the discussion boards.
Let us know if there is something in particular you want us to address or topics and technologies you might want to learn about.
If you need any help or would like to see something added, just let us know.
Welcome to the MSP2 community! So glad you've joined us.
Have you had a chance to explore the site, yet? You'll find lesson ideas, digital resources for classroom use, and connections to current news items. Look at the left side of the Main page and you'll find Math and Science Resource Guides, Diigo lists, and project blogs to name just a few. You'll also see that we have some links in the MSP2 Resources box - Getting Funding, Favorite Blogs, and Freeware/Shareware. We hope that members of the network will help us add content to these pages.
We've had several Tech Talks recently - on Reading in Mathematics, Interactive Notebooks, Diigo, Moodle, Wikis, and Digital Storytelling. You can get to the recordings of those by clicking on the Web Archive link. You can also see all our upcoming events by clicking on the Events tab. We recently had the first meeting of our book club, check out the Book Club Group for more information on that.
We're also soon to be adding resources for youth - a series of virtual learning experiences for students. So plenty more to come!
Please send any ideas or feedback you have our way, your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Do you remember what you were searching for when you came upon MSP2, and where in the process MSP2 showed up? That information is interesting as we explore how and why folks find and connect with MSP2.
We're glad you've joined, regardless. If you haven't had a chance to explore the site much, here are a few suggestions:
- there is a Science group, which is a good place to ask questions and start discussions.
- the Science Resource Guides are standards-based, quality resources that have been collected and/or written by expert, science educators. These guides are wiki pages, so you can add to, comment on, share your own resources.
- the Web Archive page links to recordings of the various online events we've held. We're always looking for suggestions as to new events. So if there is something you're interested in, let us know.
Please feel free to jump in. We welcome your comments, postings, questions, and ideas. Share resources and tools that you've found helpful. Engage in the discussions. Participate in a way that is beneficial to you.
