Hope you join us online this Thursday, 1/13 at 4pm EST as we explore how reader's theater can be used to improve comprehension of informational text and help students learn science concepts. We'll focus on science-themed text, but the same principles can apply to other content areas as well. You can find the link to participate, the descriptions, and archived recordings of all the webinars at http://wiki.nsdl.org/index.php/BeyondPenguins/Seminars
Hi Brady - Glad you were able to get registered and join our methods group. Mary did a great job describing the resources we have on the site. There are two discussion questions in the methods group that I'll like you (everyone) to comment on. You'll see your classmates comments already. Kim
I see that you and Kim Lightle are friends here on MSP2. Perhaps Kim is the one who told you about MSP2? In any event, welcome. We're glad you're here.
Don't know if you've had a chance to check out the site much. If not, here are a few ideas to get you started:
1. The science online resource guides are one of the building blocks of the site. These guides are standards-based, quality resources either gathered or written by expert science educators. The resources are wiki pages so that users can contribute to the content (please do so!).
2. We host a wide variety of online events and record them for viewing after the fact.
3. There are several groups, including a science group and an integrating technology group. Feel free to comment in any of the discussions.
Hmmm...just realized that you might be in Kim's methods class! If so, she's probably shared all the above with you already!
In any event, I do hope you'll find MSP2 a helpful resource and a place that provides opportunity for you to participate and share your knowledge and experience with others.
