Welcome! It is wonderful to have pre-service teachers here. There is so much we "more experienced" - read that "old as dirt" - teachers can learn from the enthusiasm and technical knowledge you have.
Please check out the "Groups" and find one that fits your interests. That will be a great way to build collaboration for now and in the future.

Do I understand, then, that you're feeling a bit overwhelmed at this point in the process?? What classes are you taking this semester?

Welcome to MSP2, Brian.
Are you a pre-service teacher? I gather some of the students in Dr. Lightle's class are pre-service and some are already in the classroom. Is that correct?
Even though joining MSP2 is part of your methods class, I hope you will participate beyond the class expectations.
Hope to "hear" your voice on the site!

Hi Brian - I know I "made" you join but I hope this experience is a good one for you. I want you to be part of a professional community of educators that runs the gamut - preservice all the way to educators that have had 40 years of experience. I'm hoping that the community will share, create, and learn from each other.
I want to point out some resources that will be helpful as you do your work for 731.20 - look on the Main Page on the left side - MSP2 Resources box. There are science resource guides, Diigo lists, blogs, freeware/shareware pages, and the archived recordings of all of the webinars that we've had so far.
We have lots of upcoming webinars (ones sponsored by MSP2 and other organizations) - click on the Events tab to look at those.
We also have other Groups (click on the Groups tab) that you might be interested in joining (just a suggestion). You can always read the discussions/postings without joining.
I wanted to make sure that you realize that he Middle Childhood Science Methods Course group is a private group so all conversations that you have in that group will be only readable by your classmates. If you comment/post anywhere else on the site - it would be viewable by everyone. Just a heads up!
Looking forward to the rest of the quarter! Please feel free to email me or make an appointment if you have any questions or concerns. Regards, Dr. Lightle
