Let me think about how the network could facilitate communication between the different schools that I will be working with in this grant cycle. I am new to this position so I have more to learn. Each campus will be choosing their professional development providers so I won't be the staff developer. I will work with the providers and the campus to ensure that the professional development is delivered and implemented in the classroom.
Communication is essential within each campus and I believe it would be beneficial between the campuses across the state of Texas that receive this grant.

Thanks for sharing that, Dixie. I don't know if you facilitate any professional development for the teachers, but we'd be interested in exploring how we collaborate to assist you--present topic-specific webinars, form a group here on the Ning to facilitate conversation/collaboration among the teachers in a particular school...
Glad you think MSP2 is "the perfect network" to help with math and science teaching. We certainly think so!
Would love to learn a little more about your work. Do you work for the state DOE? Or are you a private consultant? What are some of the specific needs you've seen? What kinds of resources and services are most helpful to schools, based on your experience?
Sarita has done a good job of summarizing the activities and resources here. So I'll simply add a "Welcome" and "Hope you'll jump in and participate!"
Welcome to the MSP2 community! So glad you've joined us.
Have you had a chance to explore the site, yet? You'll find lesson ideas, digital resources for classroom use, and connections to current news items. Look at the left side of the Main page and you'll find Math and Science Resource Guides, Diigo lists, and project blogs to name just a few. You'll also see that we have some links in the MSP2 Resources box - Getting Funding, Favorite Blogs, and Freeware/Shareware. We hope that members of the network will help us add content to these pages.
We've had several Tech Talks recently - on Reading in Mathematics, Interactive Notebooks, Diigo, Moodle, Wikis, and Digital Storytelling. You can get to the recordings of those by clicking on the Web Archive link. You can also see all our upcoming events by clicking on the Events tab. We recently had the first meeting of our book club, check out the Book Club Group for more information on that.
We're also soon to be adding resources for youth - a series of virtual learning experiences for students. So plenty more to come!
Please send any ideas or feedback you have our way, your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
