I am always excited to see educators from Kentucky! Being a graduate of Morehead State who has always taught in South Carolina, I don't get to interact much with those from Kentucky.
What do you do during enrichment? Last year we had an "Enrichment" period. It was great fun for me because I got to teach some great students. We enjoyed experimenting with some technology none of us had used before. However, I am not sure the overall program met its goal - to have time to work with students who are below standard. (The students I had were those who met standard.)
Have you looked at the topics in the Forum? With your areas of expertise, I am sure you have ideas to contribute.
Please let me know if you have particular areas of interest, have a problem finding something on the site, etc. please let me know. I'll do my best to help.
We look forward to your helping us build a rich learning community here on MSP2.
With your years of experience, you have a great deal to offer this community. I hope you'll be willing to do so!
Have you had a chance to explore the site much? If not, here are a few things that might be of interest:
1. The Math and Science Online Resource Guides are standards-based. They are built on wiki pages so that users can contribute to the content.
2. There several Groups to facilitate conversation around matters of specific interest to science educators.
3. MSP2-facilitated webinars are recorded and made available for listening/viewing after the event. They are great resources for either individual professional development or as part of a team professional development plan. Additionally, the resources are on wiki pages so that users can contribute to the content and add ideas and resources after-the-fact.
Please feel free to jump in and participate. Join a discussion underway. Post a comment. Ask a question. Share ideas and resources. Your participation is important to the strength of this community.
Again, welcome.
