Hi Heidi - Hope your summer is going well! I wanted to update you on our free webinars and hope you can join us for one of them soon.
We've had three Tech Talks so far - one on Interactive Notebooks, Moodle, and Digital Storytelling. You can get to the recordings of those by clicking on the Web Archive link.
You can see all our upcoming events by clicking on the Events tab. The next TechTalk topic is Using Wikis. We've got lots more topics to cover in the next few months - technology, pedagogy, content knowledge, all sorts of fun stuff! Any ideas on additional topics or feedback you have would be greatly appreciated! Kim
Welcome aboard Heidi!! Hope everything's going well! For those other MSP2 folks, I had to put up with Heidi all through college...Let me know if you need help finding anything. I've got some other suggestions from the training we've been doing this week. Hope to see you at the Interactive Notebook session next week!
Hi Heidi - So glad you joined the MSP2 network. We're just getting started so any ideas or feedback you have would be greatly appreciated! We've got lots of resources for middle school math and science teachers - look at the left side of the Main page - Math and Science Online Publications, Diigo lists, and three project blogs where we highlight exemplary online resources - Exemplary Resources for Middle School Math, Polar News and Notes, and Science and Connecting News with the National Science Education Standards.
We’ve also started holding free Elluminate-based webinars through the MSP2 project - you can see all the details at http://www.msteacher2.org/events. These webinars are the start of an ongoing series that will touch on topics from A to Z. We are going to try to have at least two per month. Do you have any other ideas for topics that you think we should address?
Interactive Notebooks - 7/29
Moodle for Middle School - 8/5
Digital Storytelling - 8/12
Wikis for the Classroom - 8/19
Hope you get involved – welcome! BTW - I agree with Mary - cute picture! Kim
Welcome, Heidi!
There are several North Carolina folks here on MSP2, including one of our Teacher Leaders, Todd Williamson.
I'm encouraged when I see that a new MSP2 person has decided to check us out and join based on the recommendation of a friend or colleague.
Would you be willing to share a little bit about yourself? What topics you enjoy teaching? What topics you find challenging? If there is anything in particular you're hoping to find on MSP2? How you like to contribute and participate in a portal such as this?
I hope you will be willing to jump in, explore, comment, post questions, start a discussion. Let us know how we can help and how we can support your engagement here.
Again, welcome.
M
P.S. Love the picture. I assume your little one??
