Welcome! I am excited to see you and other students in Dr. Lightle's class become active participants on the portal. You have much to share with us from your perspective. I hope you will also find that we have valuable information to share with you.
Technology has opened the world to us as educators. Before email people went into their rooms, shut their doors, and taught the way teachers had taught for decades. Now we have the opportunity to easily learn from each other, support each other, and improve learning for out students without leaving our homes or schools.
Hi Jim - I know I "made" you join but I hope this experience is a good one for you. I want you to be part of a professional community of educators that runs the gamut - preservice all the way to educators that have had 40 years of experience. I'm hoping that the community will share, create, and learn from each other.
I want to point out some resources that will be helpful as you do your work for 731.20 - look on the Main Page on the left side - MSP2 Resources box. There are science resource guides, Diigo lists, blogs, freeware/shareware pages, and the archived recordings of all of the webinars that we've had so far.
We have lots of upcoming webinars (ones sponsored by MSP2 and other organizations) - click on the Events tab to look at those.
We also have other Groups (click on the Groups tab) that you might be interested in joining (just a suggestion). You can always read the discussions/postings without joining.
I wanted to make sure that you realize that he Middle Childhood Science Methods Course group is a private group so all conversations that you have in that group will be only readable by your classmates. If you comment/post anywhere else on the site - it would be viewable by everyone. Just a heads up!
Looking forward to the rest of the quarter! Please feel free to email me or make an appointment if you have any questions or concerns. Regards, Dr. Lightle
