I am glad you joined us. Social networks are a great place meet others and to share ideas. Many educational websites offer information, but social networks go the next step and offer interaction.
There are great resources here. There is everything from the digital libraries which organize teacher tested websites to individual blog posts sharing lessons, resources and ideas that teachers are using in their own classrooms.
But the best resource are all the people here. The discussion boards provide an opportunities to network with other educators. You can even collaborate to connect your classes with other classes. If you have a question, ask it! Someone might have an answer. If you have an answer or an idea, please share with us. I know I am always looking for new ideas and resources.
Hi Jennifer - Welcome aboard! Really looking forward to working on the TACCC project. Please go ahead and join the TACCC group - http://www.msteacher2.org/group/TACCC.
I wanted to tell you a little about MSP2 - we are using this NING network as a place where educators can connect with each other (through answers to profile questions and the advanced Members search) and also as a way to connect educators with exemplary resources and professional development opportunities.
If you look on the Main page - you'll see MSP2 resources in the upper left hand box - we have resource guides where we have sifted and sorted and contextualized resources on topics important to middle school math and science teachers, an archive of all of our past webinars, the ability to search the MSP2 collection, and pages of teacher and student opportunities and grants. Our newest resource guides are Teaching With Trade Books which includes lessons for science AND math classes and Science Misconceptions.
We've got some great upcoming events - check them out in the Events section. One on using iPads is coming up soon - all of the webinars are free.
Please don't hesitate to post a question or comment on a discussion or blog post. We are always looking for feedback and new ideas for PD opportunities and people who would like to present.
So glad you joined - Kim
