Hope you join us online this Thursday, 1/13 at 4pm EST as we explore how reader's theater can be used to improve comprehension of informational text and help students learn science concepts. We'll focus on science-themed text, but the same principles can apply to other content areas as well. You can find the link to participate, the descriptions, and archived recordings of all the webinars at http://wiki.nsdl.org/index.php/BeyondPenguins/Seminars
Hi Jennifer! So glad you joined the network - Mary Henton is one of the PIs on the MSP2 project and hasn't "met" you yet. I know why there is such joy - you are home! Talk to you soon, Kim
Welcome, Jennifer. What a great picture! Such joy (because of the sunshine??).
I see that you're friends with Cherlyn Anderson. Can I assume that she is the "friend or colleague" who told you about MSP2?
Are you a native Alaskan? There are someone on MSP2 from Fairbanks. Jessica Fries-Gaither, a frequent contributor to MSP2 and the project manager for Beyond Penguins and Polar Bears, lived and taught in Anchorage for several years.
Would you be willing to share a little more about yourself? For example, what is the "Other" of your position? Do you belong to any other online professional learning communities? What digital or web-based tools do you use or are you interested in using for teaching and learning?
Please feel free to respond here or to add the "Text Box" on your home page here.
Again, welcome.
