Hi Josie - So glad you joined the MSP2 network It would be great if you would add a short bio in your "My Page" Text Box so other members could get to know you a little better.
In any case, I wanted to point out that we've got lots of resources for middle school math and science educators - look at the left side of the Main page - Math and Science Resource Guides, Diigo lists, and project blogs where we highlight exemplary online math and science resources and the research that is going on at the polar regions.
We've had three Tech Talks so far - one on Interactive Notebooks, Moodle, and Digital Storytelling. You can get to the recordings of those by clicking on the Web Archive link.
You can see all our upcoming events by clicking on the Events tab. The next TechTalk topic is Using Wikis. We've got lots more topics to cover in the next few months - technology, pedagogy, content knowledge, all sorts of fun stuff! Any ideas on additional topics or feedback you have would be greatly appreciated!
that would be great.. I am looking for a class that would be interested in doing a science journaling thingy using Skype.. Will have to give it more thought. It would be for grade 6 as well as Sec I....
Hi Josie
Welcome to MSP2
Glad to see you have found some of your coworkers here.
I would like to encourage you to introduce yourself, explore the site, join groups and add to discussions. The more we all share, the more we all can learn. There is a wealth of resources here, and now you are a part of that too.
If you need any help or would like to see something added, just let us know.
toodles
Welcome, Josie!
Do you already know Diane?
So glad you've joined MSP2. Would love to learn a little more about you--what you teach, what topics you love to teach, what prompted you to join MSP2, what you're hoping to gain from MSP2.
There are several members of MSP2 who are in the 3-5 or 6-year range of experience. There are also people brand new to teaching, and individuals with 20+ years of classroom experience. So the range of knowledge is wide, and the depth even deeper.
Please feel free to jump in, comment, write, ask questions. We want this site to meet the needs of the community and its individual members.
Would you like to do a technology project between our two classes... Might be interesting to let our students get to know each other a little before they head to Massey.....
