We've had three Tech Talks so far - one on Interactive Notebooks, Moodle, and Digital Storytelling. You can get to the recordings of those by clicking on the Web Archive link.
You can see all our upcoming events by clicking on the Events tab. The next TechTalk topic is Using Wikis. We've got lots more topics to cover in the next few months - technology, pedagogy, content knowledge, all sorts of fun stuff! Middle school is such an interesting level. I know my school, which is 7-8, has teachers with single-subject secondary credentials and multiple-subject elementary credentials. So, you are definitely not alone.
You probably would have a big advantage in interdisciplinary teaching, one of the strategies my school is returning to.
I look forward to hearing some of your ideas and insights.

We've got lots of resources for middle school science teachers - look at the left side of the Main page - Science Publications, Diigo lists, and two project blogs - Connecting News to the National Science Education Standards and Exemplary Resources for Middle School Math and Science.
I had an opposite experience - I'm certified as a middle school science teacher, but spent my last 5 years in the classroom in an elementary school (4th-6th grades)! Now I work at Ohio State on our digital library projects, MSP2 and another called Beyond Penguins and Polar Bears - an elementary science and literacy project.
I think your background can really help students make a successful transition to middle school - you know where they are coming from!
