Autism: 1 in 91?
I've been absent from blogging the past couple of weeks. The press copies of my book arrived, and I have been happily sending them to the most receptive and caring people, plus staying on top of the educators' web ring and all the other marketing activities that come along with a newly published book.

Developing curriculum guide for middle school book. Looking for input.
I am developing a (free) curriculum guide for my book There Are No Words, due out in February. My goal is to help teachers meet state content standards and objectives over multiple specialties without the prep work.
I am looking for some teacher collaborators to review the curriculum once it is finished (mid-fall) to offer suggestions and ideas of how to improve the curriculum guide before the book hits the mass market Feb. 1st.

For example, could you elaborate on your role as "informal educator"? Also, what is your experience specifically in middle grades, math, and/or science education? I see that you checked "Other" - what other are you? Knowing all the ways that our members are involved in education helps us get closer to meeting the needs of our audience. It would be great on your My Page if you would add a short bio in your Text Box.
In any case, I want to point out that we've got lots of resources for middle school math and science educators - look at the left side of the Main page - Math and Science Resource Guides, Diigo lists, and project blogs where we highlight exemplary online math and science resources and the research that is going on at the polar regions.
In addition, I want to update you on our free webinars and hope you can join us for one of them soon.
We've had four Tech Talks so far - one on Interactive Notebooks, Moodle, Digital Storytelling, and Wikis. You can get to the recordings of those by clicking on the Web Archive link.
You can see all our upcoming events by clicking on the Events tab. We've got lots more topics to cover in the next few months - technology, pedagogy, content knowledge, all sorts of fun stuff!
