Hi Sherry - You had said that you might attend the Vocabulary 2.0 webinar - just wanted to give you a heads up that we are changing that topic to infographics - we will do vocabulary later in the summer - Kim
Since Kim has given you the summary of the MSP2 site and pointed out some of its features, I'll simply say, "Hello, glad to have you on board."
We look forward to seeing you here on the site and hope you'll feel free to jump in, post, comment, question, offer ideas and resources, and initiate conversation.
Hi Sherry - Welcome aboard! I wanted to tell you a little about MSP2 - we are using this NING network as a place where educators can connect with each other (through answers to profile questions and the advanced Members search) and also as a way to connect educators with exemplary resources and professional development opportunities.
If you look on the Main page - you'll see MSP2 resources in the upper left hand box - we have resource guides where we have sifted and sorted and contextualized resources on topics important to middle school math and science teachers, an archive of all of our past webinars, the ability to search the MSP2 collection, and pages of teacher and student opportunities and grants. Our newest resource guides are Teaching With Trade Books which includes lessons for science AND math classes and Science Misconceptions.
We've got some great upcoming events - check them out in the Events section. We also have a MSP2 Book Club - our next book is Finding Mrs. Warnecke. You can read more about the book and find out when we are meeting by going to the MSP2 Book Club group.
Please don't hesitate to post a question or comment. We are always looking for feedback and new ideas for PD opportunities and people who would like to present.
