Do your students struggle with comprehension or vocabulary development? Looking for ways to integrate literacy in your instruction? This group will explore issues related to literacy in middle school science and mathematics.
Hi Susette - So glad you joined the MSP2 network. I see that you checked "Other" - what other are you? Knowing all the ways that our members are involved in education helps us get closer to meeting the needs of our audience. It would be great if you would add a short bio in your "My Page" Text Box.
In any case, I wanted to point out that we've got lots of resources for middle school math and science educators - look at the left side of the Main page - Math and Science Resource Guides, Diigo lists, and project blogs where we highlight exemplary online math and science resources and the research that is going on at the polar regions.
We've had three Tech Talks so far - one on Interactive Notebooks, Moodle, and Digital Storytelling. You can get to the recordings of those by clicking on the Web Archive link.
You can see all our upcoming events by clicking on the Events tab. The next TechTalk topic is Using Wikis. We've got lots more topics to cover in the next few months - technology, pedagogy, content knowledge, all sorts of fun stuff! Any ideas on additional topics or feedback you have would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Susette
Welcome to MSP2.
I take it you are a bit of a techy? Cute picture. Although it gets me thinking... I don't know if my students would even know what that is. It seems that floppies are going the way of LPs. I have had kids ask what those big black CDs were and soon they'll ask what those little black squares are. Times change so fast...
Anyway, glad to see you found us and have joined in. I encourage you to introduce yourself and tell us more about yourself, your interests, and what you do.
Let us know if you need anything.
toodles
Welcome! That was quick!! So glad you've joined us. You might be interested in a current discussion that a new member began about identifying technologies to use in her classroom. Please feel free, Susette, to jump in, share, comment, and explore the MSP2 site!
Again, welcome!

PS--I checked back on the NECC unplugged schedule and see that Steve Hargadon's session was YESTERDAY! : - ]
