mralby commented on Felicia Palmer's blog post Is Zero a Number?
"Zero is included in the real numbers, which makes zero a number by definition. The only subsets of the reals that do not include zero are the natural or counting numbers, and the irrational numbers. I would argue that zero is a number"

Thanks for the posting - love the picture - is it from your backyard??? I used to live in Florida around some lakes and alligators were frequent visitors!

Hi mralby - Hope your summer is going well! I wanted to update you on our free webinars and hope you can join us for one of them soon.

We've had three Tech Talks so far - one on Interactive Notebooks, Moodle, and Digital Storytelling. You can get to the recordings of those by clicking on the Web Archive link.

You can see all our upcoming events by clicking on the Events tab. The next TechTalk topic is Using Wikis. We've got lots more topics to cover in the next few months - technology, pedagogy, content knowledge, all sorts of fun stuff! Any ideas on additional topics or feedback you have would be greatly appreciated! Kim

So glad you joined the MSP2 network. We're just getting started so any ideas or feedback you have would be greatly appreciated! Any topics or concepts you would really like us to tackle?

We've got lots of resources for middle school math and science teachers alreay - look at the left side of the Main page - Math and Science Publications, Diigo lists, and two project blogs where we highlight lots of exemplary online math and science resources - Resources for Middle School Math and Science and Connecting News to the National Science Education Standards.

We have another project that you might be interested in - Beyond Penguins and Polar Bears - Integrating Literacy and Science for K-5 Teachers. Truth be told - lots of middle school teachers use the resource too!

Welcome - Kim
