Rebecca....I hope you'll share your experience from the Teragrid Conference. Perhaps write some blog posts here in MSP2??

Agreed....better to look ignorant for a day than be ignorant for a lifetime!

I haven't heard of this project, but I am wondering if this seminar is part of the Teragrid 09 conference at the Hyatt Regency in Crystal City this week. Do you think it is?

On Friday I am going to be part of a learning opportunity for middle and high school teachers on the Teragrid conference. It is an honor to be invited, but I expect to be totally blown away and overwhelmed most of the day.

There was a time that I would have stayed away from such things for fear of looking dumb; however, I decided better to look ignorant for a day and learn something that to remain silently ignornamt. ;-)

Perhaps through the MS Portal we'll be able to pull these pieces together for the benefit of our students.

One of the Engineering Pathways folks said that they weren't familiar with the Academy of Engineering workshops but had worked with NACME (National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering, Inc.- one of the project partners) in the past and it was a very legit organization and they have helped give scholarships to some of our students. So looks pretty good! Kim

Hi Mrs. A
So, are you interested in engineering? I am not particularly good at engineering, but as a MESA adviser, I try to help my students surpass my design limitations. Too bad I am 3000 miles away!

Hi Mrs. A - I haven't participated in anything but I was looking at the partner's page and saw Project Lead the Way - that project is pretty big in Ohio and is integrated in quite a few schools across the state. One of the projects that MSP2 works with is the National Science Digital Library (NSDL) Engineering Pathways project. I'll ask those folks what they know. Kim
