Help Parents Explain Science to Middle School Students

That was pretty vague wasn't it? I am writing a book for parents with the American Association for the Advancement of Science on the science of alcohol. It also has a series of companion lessons for middle school teachers on the same topic. Middle school kids love science and we are hopeful that explaining some of the scientific facts on how alcohol affects the body - that it affects every system, it's chemical make-up, brain research showing that it can harm developing parts of their brain such as those that store memory, etc. will provide an additional tool for parents as they try to get their kids to delay drinking. Hi Aimee
Are you looking for activities families can engage in, strategies to help students be successful throughout the school year, preparation before entering a middle school science program... There are lots of science teachers here and some clarification may give them a boost to respond.
